Do I get paid during my internship?
No. Like many internship programs, the church takes on many interns at once and subsidization is not available. However, the many previous Equip participants learn that completion of this program yields desirable advancements and learning experiences that give them an edge above the rest in the field of ministry careers.
Does it cost to be enrolled in Equip?
No. All housing and program costs are provided by Evangel Temple. However, there will be expenses that you will be responsible for which will vary on what department you are interning under and also what semester you are interning. Thus, financial support from either you or outside sources (family, relatives, etc.) are a necessity.
Do I have to find my own housing?
No. If you are from out of state, city or country, separated housing for both men and women will be provided. This is for your easy accessibility to the church as well as accountability for your social, personal and spiritual life while on staff during your internship. As mentioned above, the church will assume all housing costs.
How many hours should I expect to work a week?
Your work load and responsibilities is dependent upon what level of internship you fall under. On average, the participant should expect to work for at least 40 to 50 hours, this includes events, services and outreaches. This work involves all aspects of ministry including ministerial, administrative and physical tasks and responsibilities afforded to them by their designated leaders and teachers. The full, intended experience the Equip offers is an all-encompassing experience that plunges the participant into every aspect possible in ministry, both in leadership and servitude.
Do I need a college degree to be enrolled in Equip?
No. Most participants accepted are, indeed, college students or graduates; however, the program is open to all who desire to pursue a career in ministry.
Do I have to be a member of Evangel Temple to be an intern?
No. Many participants are from outside of Evangel Temple and even Florida.
What areas of the church are internships available?
All the areas are listed in the Equip home page.
How long is the internship?
The internship last an entire semester. There are internships available in the fall, spring, and summer.
Can I work at the same time?
Yes. The internship itself is quite demanding, however a part time job can be utilized if necessary. The participant takes full responsibility if his or her obligations fail due to poor planning. As leaders, we must take on responsibility and learn to prioritize.
Is there a dress code?
All students are required to wear business casual every day they are in the office. There are no exceptions to this unless approved by either the Intern Coordinator or by your department head.
